What is a Transponder Key?

Taken from the word transmitter and responder, transponder key technology is an anti theft device embedded in your car's ignition. A Transponder Key Explained

Transponder keys have a computer chip embedded in the head of the key. This chip is programmed with a code that is read by your car's computer. If your car does not read the correct code, your car will not start.
